anthrasulaWhen I was first told about Technorati, the concept as explained to me was very simple: tag your blog posts with relevant terms so that people can find the blog posts they're looking for more easily.

The problem with them, however, is spam. Just how many of the 24.2 million blogs listed by Technorati are spam blogs? Whilst searching for 'Anthony Rasula' today (okay, I was ego-surfing!), in the first 40 results returned there were no fewer than 30 spam blogs which all, or at least the majority of them, point to www.webs-search.com.

Practially every search you do on Technorati brings up spam. I'm fed up with seeing spam sites for vending machines and dog kennels when I do a search for sites that should feature poetry or criticism.
