stevenlPreditors & Editors is an American-based website that takes a refreshing approach to listing writing contests. It dislikes contests where a fee is asked of entrants and lists such contests appropriately. Information is supplied for artists, composers, game designers, poets, and writers of all persuasions, according to the management. Preditors & Editors has been headquartered in Petersburg, Virginia, USA since July 1997. The webmaster declares, online, that the resource "is intended as a simple compendium for the serious writer, composer, game designer, or artist to consult for information, regardless of genre." The website includes a substantial checklist for spotting publishing scams and another for spotting sham literary agents. A links section highlights websites of interest to writers..
