UbuWeb is a treasure

stevenlSimply amazing. Ubuweb is one of the rare web resources (right along side archive.org I'd say) that reminds us all just how cool the internet is. It’s a repository of a whole variety of avant-garde audio, video, and more. There’s a lot of cool stuff available for download. It’s an ideal in what can be done in a low overhead manner. It’s completely volunteer driven and it is completely non-commercial, as one would expect.

Indispensable

dsendeckiKenneth Goldsmith was quoted: "On Ubuweb people are as likely to download a Renaissance visual poem as they would listen to the MP3 of Louis Farrakhan singing ‘Is She Is, Or Is She Ain’t?’"

There's enough audio material, text, and visual stuff here to keep an archivist busy for years. A clearinghouse for the avant-garde for sure.
