At the Small Press Exchange, we realize that wanting more memberships for the sake of numbers is not enough. That being said, we rely on the collaborative efforts of our members, staff and volunteers to build a community that can make a positive contribution to the small press scene. In order to generate momentum that will propel us forward, we need capital—not money, but the collective knowledge shared by our membership. This is the reason behind our membership drive.
Our goal: 1,000 new members by December 2007!
So, we're thrilled to have you join us, and we hope you're excited to be a member of what we hope will become one of the most energetic communities on the web!
The Small Press Exchange is a member-supported online and offline network of small press enthusiasts. We rely on our members to contribute their ideas, opinions, and knowledge to help other like-minded users.
By submitting random articles, essays, musings, reviews, journal entries, e-mails, pictures, local events/activities, feedback, and ideas, members take an active role in shaping the Small Press Exchange into the best online community for the small press.
Furthermore, by utilizing the Small Press Exchange to organize offline events and activities, members expand and enhance the social networks. Our community would not survive without the support of a broad array of people interested in the independent arts and the small press. Whether working to educate others, developing programs to further the aims of the small press, or encouraging the strength of the community, each of us has a critical role in building The Small Press Exchange!
