My Profile

Favourite Books:: Kerouac, Sherman Alexie
About Me: I was born November 13, 1960. My mother read me to and
acted out the parts while I saw the pictures in my
head. I was raised on the idealism of the times both
from the space race and the youth culture. When I was
7 I discovered power; I made it rain. When I was
thirteen I decided I wanted to be a writer. I wrote
Mad Magazine parodies of the President, the televised
Senate hearings into Watergate was my civics class. By
nineteen I was writing Emersonian essays. In my
twenties I decided to throw out my education and learn
to write; my teachers were Hemingway, Fitzgerald,
Kerouac. At first I wrote slogans, then built up to
poems, then stories. I've written two novels, Becoming
Angel and The Last Stage, and one book of short
stories, Stranger Souls.

Hey, Jim, how's the book business? Good to see you here. I still tell people about that story of your, The Softest Metal.

You like Sherman Alexie, eh? That's cool! I've got a copy of First Indian on the Moon from Hanging Loose Press. It's a great book. Alexie writes: "[I]magination is all we have as defense against capture and its inevitable changes,".

Just so poignant. Thanks for registering, and cool to see your new novel in the Marketplace!
