I began an earlier thread about bookfairs with some interesting information that I had found -- but that was for a very specific marketing niche. This tries to answer the question: "What efforts can small presses make to sell more books?
For example, what does a small press consider its obligations? What are the author's obligations?
Is it fair to expect a small press to do the following?
1. Send out review copies to PW, Kirkus, Booklist, Library Journal
2. Send out review copies to sources identified by the author as relevant
3. Send their full catalog to booksellers (not necessarily any one _title_) and libraries
4. Personally call booksellers and libraries to pre-sell new _title_s
If you can think of anything else, please add to the thread!
