I don’t normally read Doonesbury, but I thought this one was pretty amusing…

It doesn’t speak well for Trudeau's acquaintence with the subject matter. Creationists don’t deny that organisms evolve—just that they don't turn into new species.

Trudeau, like so culturally aggressive materialists, doesn’t realize how ignorant he is of the subjects he satirizes—or how foolish he makes himself look in the eyes of those less smugly ignorant.

With regards to the intelligent design versus evolution argument, I have nothing to add that hasn’t been said a billion times. It’s ridiculous to blindly adhere to either side without critically examining the facts.

That being said, I would call myself a Darwinist.

I think it's pretty effective, it illustrates (yes, pun intended, always!) the point. Sure, it may be, strictly speaking, not an academic illustration of the theories at work, but some times you have to simplify to make your point, as the layman would understand it.

Sorry to revive a thread that's a little bit older, but come on -- it's satire, rkelly.

It's meant to skewer intelligent design -- not that it's terribly difficult to do. This isn't a senator reviewing legislation, just a cartoon.
