Our pick of the week this week is NewPages. NewPages is a great portal to information on independent bookstores, independent publishers, literary periodicals, alternative periodicals, independent record labels, and alternative newsweeklies. Also boasts book review sources, a resource library and a weblog. Pretty darn good stuff.

NewPages its tagline is "Good Reading Starts Here".

From Utne Magazine: "NewPages.com, the best overall Internet portal to the alternative press, independently (and noncommercially) organizes pages of _link_s to hundreds of magazines, independent publishers and bookstores, literary magazines, newsweeklies, and review sources. NewPages.com also publishes unique book and zine reviews, and an interesting weblog broadly covering the world of arts, publishing, and libraries."

Thanks to esande for the _link_!

Hey, glad to see my suggestion make it as pick of the week. What I like about this site is the Bookstore Mailing Lists & Library Mailing Lists. A real boon for small pressers.

These mailing lists are available for unlimited personal use – and now cost a lot less than other companies who charge you to rent their list for one time use.

I've worked on a few projects in the past where authors or presses wanted me to point them in the right direction in regards to marketing. Most bang for your buck here, by far.
