I don't know if anyone has yet noticed the google adsense ads that are now showing in the directory on this site.

I wanted to point these out and let everyone know that we are evaluating this as a way to help defray the hosting costs for the community and give back a little, too.

What we have done is setup a system so the ad revenue can be shared between all active members of this website. This directory displays one advertisement on the left side. We use Google AdSense to automatically serve relevant ads for the content on the page. Google pays AdSense publishers on a per click basis as well as per impression.

If a user has an AdSense account, they have the ability to credit their account with the ads served on the Small Press Exchange.

If we collect anything in excess of our hosting expense from this, then the proceeds will be used for bettering the community through service upgrades, etc. If however the ads prove to be a distraction for the community, they will be removed. Please let me know what you think.
