The the Small Press Exchange Directory is organized by subject. Most sites in it are suggested to us by users. Sites are placed in categories by the Small Press Exchange editors, who visit and evaluate your suggestions and decide where the sites best belong. We do this to ensure that the Small Press Exchange is organized in the best possible way, making the directory easy to use, intuitive, helpful, and fair to everyone.

With this in mind, we ask that you follow three simple, yet important steps if you have a site (URL) you'd like to suggest:

Step 1: Check to See if Your Site Is Already in the Small Press Exchange

This first step is important, because if your site is already listed in the the Small Press Exchange Directory, you need go no further. You can check by searching on your site's name using the search box. If your site appears on the resulting page, you are listed in the the Small Press Exchange Directory.

(Note: If your site is already listed in the the Small Press Exchange Directory, but you want to change its comments, _title_, and/or placement, you need to use the "claim" _link_. This is an entirely different process.)

Step 2: Find the Appropriate Category in the Small Press Exchange

Finding an appropriate category for your site is at the heart of this process. Remember that the Small Press Exchange editors visit each site suggested via the Small Press Exchange Directory Submit, and proper categorization on your part helps us process and review your suggestions quickly.

Step 3. Suggest Your Site From the Appropriate Category

Once you've found the most appropriate category for your site, you are ready to suggest it. Just click on the "Add your listing here" _link_ on the category page. Also, remember that the final placement of your site is determined by the Small Press Exchange's editors.

When you click on "Add your listing here" in the appropriate category, you'll see an online form asking for information about your site.

In the "category" space on the form, you'll see the name of the category you've chosen. Please be prepared to provide, among other information, your site's _title_, URL, and a brief de_script_ion.
