Ok, I am just becoming familiar with QuarkExpress, and all I have to say this program is has a mind of it's own!
Please tell me the industry is shifting towards Indesign and making quark the dinosaur of the past. I have to use this program for my Typography class, and without fail if I don't save every 5 minutes, it crashes, and I lose all the work I have done.
I know the industry still uses this layout program, and this is why I have to use it for this particular class, but I really am hoping the industry is phasing it out, because it is so frustrating to work with.

There are some things I like better in InDesign, some things I like better in Quark...just depends on the instance. Quark is fabulous for type control. InDesign tries to emulate but can get frustrating, but Quark is still better (IMHO) when creating _style_s etc.
If you are crashing alot, sounds like a memory problem or a corruption somewhere. Could be a font or an image.
