Nashira Dernesch was raised in St. Jacobs, Ontario and studied at the U of T before being accepted into York University's creative writing program. She was co-editor of the literary journal Existere for three years, and won the 2003 McLaughlin College Poetry Contest. In 2006 she was the winner of the Art Bar Discovery Night. She will be celebrating the publication of her first chapbook, It's No Secret You'll Feel Better (believe your own press).
Stan White is a photographer and writer of non-fiction, short stories and poetry. He has published two books of poetry: Quaere (Beyond The Third Dimension Press) and About Time, Moments from a Dead World (Craigleigh Press). He won first prize in the 2006 Silver Hammer Awards for Poetry. He lives in Brantford.
Al St.Louis has been performing his spoken word art since 2000. He is the creator of When Words Are Spoken, an ongoing event dedicated to showcasing spoken word artists within and around Toronto. He participated in Black History Night at the Art Bar. |
