Ahadada Launches Online Shop

Ahadada Books, in association with West House Books and Ikuta Press, have launched an online shop designed to provide our readers in North America with the books they want at affordable prices—over 50 titles are available on-line from this new area of their website

The new shop was a planned extension of their site and fits with their mission to provide titles not readily available in Canada and North America. They hope this new extension serves as a valuable supplement to augment sales, support traditional sales channels and better serve regional markets.

At the moment we offer a selected number books, but before the end of this year we hope to make the additional presses and books available for purchase.

Just wanted to stop in and say congratulations on the new shop! The place looks great and the payment system looks pretty simple to use.

Yah, I just finished it this past weekend. The last step was to add credit card processing to it. We decided to go with Paypal mostly because it's well known, secure, flexibile and easy to work with?it turns all of the validation and security issues over to someone that really focuses on this area of business.

In the future, we'll process credit cards through our own system. But for the indefinite future, we'll be using paypal for all credit cards, etc.

Of course, you can always order on the website and pay by regular check or money order!

Okay, I recognize West House Books (I actually have Thomas Lovell Beddoes' Deat's Jest-book) which I think is from West House.

However, never ever heard of Ikuta -- it seems they only have a few titles. Who, where, and what is Ikuta Press?

Hey rhughes,

I'm gonna grab the stock answer off of our website, as I'm at work and don't have a lot of time.

The Ikuta Press was established in 1970 in Kobe, Japan by Yoko Danno. Two years later, with the American expatriate poet Lindley Williams Hubbell and Kanaseki Hisao, a scholar and translator known for his work on Gertrude Stein and American Indian mythology, Editor-in-chief Yoko Danno put out the first Anthology, an annual, or sometimes biannual, poetry collection. Among the writers Danno published in the series, which continued until 1991, were Sato Hiroaki, Timothy Harris and Arturo Silva.

Ikuta Press titles are available in North America exclusively from Ahadada Books.

Actually that pretty much sums it up. Shoot me a message if you'd like any more information.
