September has arrived, and that means a whole new season of great books from Coach House Press. You'll want to mark you calendars for October 24 now, so you don't miss the Coach House Fall Launch at Revival in Toronto, and then brace yourself for the flurry of Coach House happenings throughout the next few months.

In preparation of a full and exciting fall season, we're having a party! All are welcome at the Coach House Open House, and we hope to see some of you enjoying yourselves as we cap off the summer at Coach House HQ. There's a truckload of other Coach House news and events for September, as well. Please read below for information about the latest award wins, events and reviews.

You're Invited to the Coach House Open House

On September 7, Coach House Press throws open its doors and its kegs once again for a Coach House Open House. And you're all invited!

Ever wondered what a printing press looks like? Want to learn how to fold a signature (that's sixteen pages)? And to nod off in the Magical Sleeper Chair, where many a poetic derrière has ensconced itself? We invite you to wander through the making of a book, then retire to the courtyard for a beer, a snack and an elbow-rubbing with a veritable who's who of CanLit. And all Coach House books will be available for 25% off.

We hope you'll join us for a beer, a tour, a snack and a book from 5:00 – 10:00 p.m. at the Coach House, at 401 Huron Street (rear) on bpNichol Lane.

The many of you who live nowhere near Toronto and cannot join us in celebration: we feel your collective pain. To that effect, the 25% off Open House Sale will be offered on all Coach House internet book sales between Tuesday, September 5th and Tuesday, September 12th. Order any book online from Coach House Books and receive 25% off. It's the next best thing to being at the open house.

'The most important thing to say about this work is simply how sensational it is. Robertson is a veteran poet whose writing displays a lifetime's aggregate attention to craftsmanship and detail in language. Blessed also with the penetrating intelligence of a genuine philosophical thinker, she sublimates everyday things into ideas of beautiful complexity.' – Ottawa Xpress

'I can say [Social Acupuncture] is a book that anyone involved with theatre or activism should read, maybe even anyone who identifies as left of centre. He’s asking the right questions, and positing interesting answers.' – The Dominion

''Miss Lamp is the strangest book I've come across in a while. Quirky, sweet, inventive and grotesque ... Ewart has a poet's eye for detail, turns a pretty phrase and gives a good chuckle. This is a unique offering by a clever, skiller writer.' – Broken Pencil
