From the desk of Kevin Sampsell, publisher of Future Tense Books:
It’s here! The amazing debut collection of Elizabeth Ellen. It may only be 52-pages but it sure packs a wallop. There’s already been a rush of excitement about the book. Kevin Keck, author of Oedipus Wrecked (my favorite book of the year) is offering a crazy 2-for-1 deal with his book,
3 am Magazine is quizzing her about her pool playing soundtrack, Smokelong Quarterly just put out one of her flash fictions, and she was on the Paul Toth podcast recently as well.
Before You She Was a Pit Bull showcases six of EE’s best stories and has a very cool painting by David Kramer as its cover. Stay tuned for info on events with Miss Ellen in early 2007 and into spring.
The other big news: We’re finally on Myspace! Come visit our page, stay updated on all things Future Tense, see photos of all those mysterious authors you’ve always wondered about, and leave comments for us.
Coming out in spring of 2007: The powerful Dahlia Season from Myriam Gurba. This book, published through Manic D Press, features the funny and darkly sweet title novella as well as some of Gurba’s dazzling and sometimes disturbing short stories. Myriam will be doing some readings as well.
Our links page (lots more) and our submissions page (not so friendly right now) have been updated. Please go there to see the changes.
