REALITY STREET EDITIONS was formed in 1993, as an amalgamation of two independent poetry presses: Ken Edwards' Reality Studios, which had been operating in London since 1978, and Wendy Mulford's Street Editions, founded in Cambridge in 1972. Since 1998 it has been run solely by Ken Edwards.

We publish contemporary writing in English, and in translation from other languages. We're committed to producing well designed and printed trade paperback editions in limited runs but at affordable prices.

In 2006 Reality Street will publish the following books of new poetry

  • SONATA by Maurice Scully (106pp, £8.50)
  • STRETCHERS by Jeff Hilson (78pp, £7.50)
  • BODY OF WORK by Maggie O'Sullivan (approx 350pp, £15)

For more details on these titles, please click here.

Reality Street is a tiny, part-time press, currently surviving entirely through subscriptions and its six-year Supporter Scheme. It publishes innovative writing in well-designed paperback editions. Here are some of the projects in the pipeline for 2007 and beyond:

  • Botsotso—a multi-racial, multi-lingual contemporary anthology of poetry from South Africa
  • The Radical Sonnet—an anthology to be edited by Jeff Hilson
  • Fanny Howe: In the Middle of Nowhere - a reissue of her out-of-print 1980s novel
  • Emil Savitzkaya: En Vie—translation of this Belgian/Polish writer's prose narrative work
  • Bernard Noel: 19th October 1977

Plus two or three individual collections of new poetry, and more in our narrative series. More details to come! Since 1998, more than 70 individuals have helped Reality Street Editions by being REALITY STREET SUPPORTERS.

We are still soliciting Supporter subscriptions for 2006. As a Supporter, you will receive a copy of every Reality Street book published during the period 2004–06 (11 titles). Your name will also be listed in the back of future books and on relevant publicity material, unless you prefer to remain anonymous.
